About
Raghurai Singh
Raghurai Singh has taught Kundalini Yoga at various yoga centers, hospitals and schools in London since 1999. He is a KRI Lead Teacher Trainer (Level 1 & 2) with Karam Kriya School International.

In 2015 he started Level 3 with KRI in France. He trained as a Karam Kriya consultant – the science of spiritual numerology – with his spiritual teacher Shiv Charan Singh.

Currently, he is running a Chair-Based Program for the Golden Age helping older adults to improve their physical and mental health with Kundalini Yoga and meditation at Open Age in London and at various Yoga centers in mainland Europe.

He works as a counsellor/psychotherapist and supervisor (MSc) in several organizations in London. In 2005 he became a volunteer and later a trustee of the Guru Ram Das Project with the primary aim of improving the mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing of the community.
The Program
I developed "Silver Age: Kundalini Chair Yoga" while teaching and working in the United Kingdom and Spain. I started teaching older adults and those with mobility problems 15 years ago at various yoga venues, day centers, and care homes in London.

I was hit by a severe immune condition in 1994 which meant that I had to find a way to stimulating myself to teach with patience and a zest for life through community work. Slowly, I learned to adjust the yoga practice to different levels of mobility, immunity, and strength.

When I started practising Kundalini Yoga, I soon realized that there were asanas (postures) and exercises from different Yoga disciplines that were not suitable for people dealing with medium to severe health condition, or for the older adults.

On the other hand, I found that many Kundalini Yoga exercises could be adapted while respecting the essence and integrity of the teachings. As Dana, one of my long time older adult students, described it: "He showed us how to breathe properly and how to modify the movements to suit our disabilities."

This Chair yoga course was extremely useful and practical.
